35th Annual SEAD Picnic

35th Annual SEAD Democratic Free Picnic-“Party like it is 1987”

Due to the overwhelming response to the 35Th SEAD Free Picnic, the SEAD Picnci has returned to the South Park Fairgrounds Clock Building. The 35th Annual SEAD Picnic is a little more than a month away. This year’s picnic will be held on Sunday, August 27, 2023 from 1 pm to 5 pm For 35 years the SEAD Picnic has traditionally been the kickoff event for the fall campaign. The picnic is free just bring a covered dish in a disposable container no need to bring utensils we have plenty, It will be a mixture of all our themes including, LUAU, Back to the 80’s, Pittsburgh Sports Tailgate, and of course Star Wars. Wear your tee shirts and buttons from past picnics or dress up in our of past picnic themes listed or just wear your favorite candidate tee shirt,

Every year hundreds of Democrats attend this fun event to cheer on our Democratic Nominees from the Governor, Lt. Governor, and U.S. Senate Races, Congressional. State Senate and State House from all over Allegheny County.

Many statewide candidates have called the SEAD Picnic a must This year’s picnic will feature some picnic favorites like the medium Sara Sachs, and Politically Correct (basket and ticket auction), and UPMC will have their Info Bus and will be passing out information and giveaways for all. We will also have the 3rd Annual corn hole tournament with prizes., Weird Eric will return with his magic and Nationally recognized Balloon Art, The Award Winning Historic Pittsburgh Photography of the late Pittsburgh Press Photographer Edward A, Frank. Edward was the father of SEAD President Robert Frank, including a special recognition ceremony of Allegheny County’s efforts to preserve South Park Fairgrounds and a rolling photo slide presentation of SEAD events of the past, and a chance to see one of our region’s best known reptile`,

The picnic is Free-Attendees are just asked to bring a salad, dessert, or main dish. SEAD provides chicken, salad, plates and utensils, water, pop, and Beer donated by State Senator Wayne Fontana, Judging from the excitement levels and the crucial issues of today, this is looking to be one of our best in the State.

Sponsorship of The SEAD Picnic is a great way to get your name in front of hundreds of active and energized Democrats from throughout the county. Now more than ever it is important that Democrats win at all levels from State Courts to Local and County offices while looking ahead to Next year’s Presidential Election, U.S, Congress. and the State Senate and State House. Our Democracy is depending on Big Wins for Democrats everywhere!

It’s not too late to be a sponsor. The SEAD Picnic is free thanks to the support of our sponsors. (Attendees are only asked to bring a covered dish (enough for 8 people.) Sponsorships are available at a variety of different levels to fit any budget.
